Safari Niagara provides a fun and inexpensive day for families with young children.

Located in the village of Stevensville, Ontario, not far from the Queen Elizabeth Way, and about a twenty minute drive from Niagara Falls, Safari Niagara is a popular place with local families. Away from the busy tourist area of the Falls, the family owned zoo, with it's large play area and splash pool offers families with young children a fun day out at a reasonable price.

Picnic Areas

Bringing your own food will keep down the cost and it is encouraged at Safari Niagara. There are plenty of clean picnic tables located around the zoo for guests, most of them are situated in shaded areas. If you prefer not to bring your own food a cafe is available with an outdoor patio that provides fast food, drinks and ice cream.

Animals

Stroll around the winding paths, listen to the sounds, and let over 400 species of animal, bird and reptile that live at Safari Niagara entertain your family. Visit the farmyard and barn, where children are encouraged to interact with the small animals up close. Take a break and watch the "Wanders of Flight" an educational and interactive show, or ride the Gator Express around the park as you listen to a guided tour. The tram stops at several locations around the park and is wheelchair accessible, plus strollers and wagons may come on board.

Play Area and Splash Pad

A huge sandy play area is available with slides, tunnels, swings and climbers. A small lake close by provides paddle boat rides. When the children become too hot from running around the play area, they may cool off in the large splash pad area. This is a popular place in the park for children and adults of all ages to splash, ride and squirt the many crazy toys.

Fishing

Children may learn to fish with an experienced angler at the Safari Niagara pond. The catch and release lessons ensures the fish stay safe and the pond well stocked. Fishing equipment is provided and is free of charge.

Gift Shop

Toy stuffed animals of many kinds and other fun souvenirs may be purchased at the gift shop at a reasonable price.

Good to Know

Safari Niagara is open from mid May to early October. The trails around the zoo are smooth for strollers, wheelchairs and wagons. Season passes are available and include admission to four live concerts that are held at the large amphitheater in the summer. The amphitheater is available to hire for your private functions. Day Camps are run for children 6 to 12 years old in the summer time.
